Checked in!
We arrived at UHS Wilson on 04/23/2025 at 7:00 PM for our scheduled appointment to induce.
Katrina was checked in, we were taken to a room with a hospital bed and a couch and all of the other medical equipment/monitoring devices. Katrina was given a gown and some grippy socks to don. She was also given a cup for a urine sample.
Also in the room there is an incubator bed for Everly. The nurse, Ella, checked Katrina’s vitals, went over several details with us, put in an IV, did a cervical exam, and placed the monitoring devices on Katrina’s belly. Whish-whish-whish-whish 135 beats per minute… and the occasional thud indicative that Everly is practicing her jujitsu.
The attending doctor entered the room to introduce himself. He is an older gentleman who stated that he has been in this line of work for over 40 years. (Ella mentioned before this moment that he would come in to say hello and that he was a very nice and very good doctor). The doctor took some notes on medical history, allergies, and then he said he would be starting orders or an oral medication that would be given every 4 hours which would bring on contractions little by little (every 4 hours the dose gets doubled).
A short while later a phlebotomist came in and drew blood. We were told at this point to relax and hang tight. It’s 10pm now so the next round of meds is to come at 2am…
