5:45 AM.. The Morning Of
No baby yet! I figured I’d lead with that information.
Good morning everyone!! Last night was uneventful. Another round of the inducing drugs at 2am and no real changes in baby activity on the monitor.
Katrina says that she feels okay right now. No real changes or anything to note. While we were trying to sleep last night the nurses checked in a few times, readjusted the monitor, and asked if there was anything they could do to make her more comfortable. They have been great to both of us so far.
I went home this morning to check on the Frey and as soon as I opened the door she let out a whine and about leapt into my arms. Without trying to waste too much time I gave her some loving and let her out to do her business. Food in the dish, water in the bowl, and just like that I’m back at the hospital… and still no baby, PHEW.
The nurse came back and did a cervical exam - still 1cm dilated. Katrina has only one request at this time and it is for a banana. The nurse said that she talked to the Dr. and she is okay to eat regular food but that her diet order would soon be changing to clear liquid only. The nurse brought a menu into the room and surprise surprise - today’s breakfast special is French Toast which happens to be one of her favorites lately.
Before leaving the room the nurse said that there was no baby delivery happening any time soon but this round of meds was doubled to 50 micrograms and things can start moving along quickly.
After all, no major changes. I’m hanging in here too. This isn’t the best camping trip but it is not the worst. They asked me last night if I wanted to cut the cord (I know it’s not very EMT of me but the cord cutting freaks me out a little bit). I’m going to do it because it’s something I know I’d regret later if I didn’t do.
Anyways, stay tuned. I’m sure we’ll have more news as the day goes on. Thanks for checking back in. -Jack
